HTC ThunderBolt vs. HTC Inspire 4G Dogfight Part 2 by Aaron
It's a 4G phone fight! Aaron gets the HTC ThunderBolt and HTC Inspire 4G together for a dogfight battle to see which device has the best combination of features. Verizon's ThunderBolt offers a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 4.3-inch display, 8-megapixel camera, front-facing camera, Android 2.2 with HTC's Sense 2.0 user interface, and an awesome kickstand for watching videos. The HTC Inspire 4G offers similar specs, but doesn't have the kickstand or the front-facing camera. Then again, it's $150 cheaper, and offers a gorgeous metal unibody construction like the European HTC Desire HD.
Which one of the two has the best combination of features, service, and price? We'll figure it out in the dogfight. Part 2 of 2.

The storm has arrived at PhoneDog, and it's packing thunder! Aaron reviews the HTC ThunderBolt, Verizon's first 4G LTE phone and a device that closely resembles the HTC Inspire. It offers a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 4.3-inch display, 8-megapixel camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing picture snapper, Android 2.2 with HTC Sense 2.0, and a kickstand for good measure. It retails for $249.99 with a two-year agreement, or a jaw-dropping $599.99 without a contract.
It's a feature-rich device with a lot to offer (plus, it's Verizon's first 4G phone), but it has its downfalls. The battery life is quite bad, and there seem to be issues with maintaining a 4G signal. Is it the best device on Verizon? We'll find out. Part 1 of 2.

In addition to the premium connectivity, it offers a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 4.3-inch display, 8-megapixel camera with a dual-LED flash, 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter, Android 2.2 with HTC's Sense 2.0 user interface, and more.
The phone itself is a nice device, but there are other 4G LTE devices coming later in the year, plus it's not a dual-core device, which makes it somewhat dated out of the gate. At $249.99, is it worth buying, or should you hold off for something else? We'll (try to) figure it out. Part 2 of 2.

It's packed with a 1 GHz Hummingbird processor, 3.5-inch display, 3-megapixel camera (NOT 5-megapixel like he says in the video), a front-facing camera for Facebook lovers, and a custom build of Android 2.2 that provides former Sidekick users with a similar experience. It also offers a great physical QWERTY keyboard for text messaging. The Sidekick 4G is a nice evolutionary bump from the old line of devices, and should keep existing users happy.

Inside, it offers a 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor, 4-inch display, 8-megapixel rear camera, a camera on the front for video calling, and Android 2.2. It comes preloaded with quite a few games and the usual T-Mobile applications like My Device, Help, and Wi-Fi Calling.
It's a powerhouse of a phone, and will be a solid competitor to other dual-core devices like the Motorola DROID Bionic and Atrix 4G. Aaron gets up close and personal in this hands-on video.

We saw it at Mobile World Congress as the HTC Flyer, but HTC's new tablet is coming to the States as Sprint's HTC EVO View 4G. Featuring a 1.5 GHz processor, 7-inch display, Android 2.3 with HTC Sense 3.0 (or so they're calling it now), and two cameras, it's a decent tablet. Honeycomb would have been a nice touch, but HTC assured everyone that it would come in due time. Can it compete with the Galaxy Tab series and the Apple iPad 2? That's anyone's guess. Sydney reviews the HTC Freestyle, a unique featurephone that almost looks like a smartphone. It uses HTC's Sense UI which brings a lot of cool features like the popular weather and clock widget, Friendstream, and a notification system similar to what you would see on an Android smartphone.
The camera performance was disappointing, but the virtual keyboard is probably one of the best on a featurephone, and battery life wasn't that bad either. After testing it out and putting it through its paces, this is definitely the best featurephone from AT&T's current line-up.
