We take a closer look at Apple's Smart Cover for the iPad 2. Is this thin piece of material with magnets in it really worth the RM250 asking price?
For the thinking man, it's probably now but for the aesthetic nut, the Smart Cover makes a compelling case.

T-Mobile G2x vs. Apple iPhone 4 Part 2 by Aaron
Aaron throws the T-Mobile G2x and the Apple iPhone 4 into the ring to see which one is the best. The T-Mobile G2x sports a 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core CPU, 4-inch WVGA display, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p video recording capabilities, front-facing camera, an HDMI port, and a near-stock build of Android 2.2. The Apple iPhone 4 has an A4 processor (roughly 1 GHz), 3.5-inch Retina display, 5-megapixel camera, front-facing camera, and more.
They'll both serve you well, but only one can win in a PhoneDog dogfight. Which one will take the cake? Part 2 of 2.

HTC ThunderBolt vs. Apple iPhone 4 Part 1 by Aaron
It's a dogfight between two of the hottest devices on the market! Aaron throws the HTC ThunderBolt and the Apple iPhone 4 together to see which one comes out on top. The HTC ThunderBolt is rocking the high end specs - 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 4.3-inch display, 8-megapixel camera, front-facing camera, kickstand, and Android 2.2 with HTC Sense 2.0. The iPhone 4 is no slouch though; it's powered by an Apple A4 CPU and offers a 3.5-inch display, 5-megapixel camera, front-facing camera for FaceTime, and iOS 4.3 (on the AT&T version, at least).
They're both fantastic choices, and they're both available on Verizon (though there are some slight differences between the AT&T and Verizon versions), but there's a $50 price difference between the two. Does the combination of the larger display and 4G connectivity make the ThunderBolt the best choice? We'll see! Part 1 of 2.

Its here! The iPad 2 has made its big debut and we are giving you our unboxing and first impressions.
The iPad 2 is the successor to the original iPad which is the current market leader in tablets. When opening the box you are given you standard Apple packaging which is sleek and minimal and you don't get that many accessories. Just the USB cable and the wall charger. When you first look at the new iPad 2 you will notice not much has drastically changed physically. You do get a much thinner profile and rounded edges but the main changes are the front and rear facing cameras and the new dual core processor inside. The device feels snappy and nice in the hand when first picked up. It's light and very thin and comfortable to hold so far.
We will put the iPad though its paces like we did with the XOOM and will give you a full review coming soon so stay tuned and be sure to subscribe to all of our social media outlets above.

Written Review by Dan Lourenco
Well, it's here. The boys in Cupertino released the highly-anticipated iPad 2 last Friday at 5:00pm. Like any Starbucks-drinking metrosexual urbanite worth his salt, I took a half day at work in order to play a few hours of Call of Duty get my ass to a Best Buy, hop in line, and ensure I copped the shiny, new piece of gadgetry. Two hours later, I had my hands on the next iteration of Apple's tablet. So is it worth the hype? That, my friends, is up for you to decide.
Let's get the specs out of the way.
The iPad 2 features:
dual-core, 1 GHz A5 processors
512 MB of RAM
2 cameras ("VGA quality" front-facing, 720p rear-facing)
Gyroscope
16GB, 32GB, and 64GB storage configurations
To put this in perspective, the original iPad touted a single core, 1 Ghz A4 processor, half the amount of RAM, no cameras, no gyroscope, and same storage configuration. With these appreciable upgrades, Apple still managed to squeeze all those components into a 33% thinner, lighter, form factor than the original. In other words, it's pretty much a Jessica Simpson vs. Megan Fox battle going on here; one's a tad thicker and slower than the other, but you wouldn't feel embarassed holding either.
Perhaps the most impressive feat of all is retaining the same phenomenal battery life. While Apple claims 10 hours of battery life, most reviewers found that during normal usage, battery life exceeded expectations.
Still, spec whores will be spec whores. Detractors will groan about the lack of USB ports, SD card slot, and flash support. I don't find these omissions too concerning, but your mileage may vary. The biggest complaint bouncing 'round the blogosphere, and one that I can empathize with, is the fairly poor quality of still shots taken with the built-in cameras. Unless you're snapping photos in an obscenely well-lit area (like, say, the surface of the sun), you're going to get grainy-ass photos. True, video quality is much better than the still shots on this thing, but I was hoping for something a little more substantial. As it stands, the iPhone 4 holds the crown for the best photos on an iOS device. That being said, I doubt any amateur or professional photographers were planning on replacing their DSLRs with an iPad anyway. It's clear that the Apple's primary reason for including these cameras is for usage in FaceTime video calls, and with those expectations, the cameras get the job done. Those gripes aside, the iPad 2 is clearly a superior device to its predecessor.
But hardware means nothing without decent software to run on it. And that, ladies and gentlement, is where this thing really shines. On the iPad 2, most apps feel snappier than on the 1st generation device. News apps, like CNN and The Daily, flood the senses with text, audio, video, and interactive content almost instantaneously. The excellent Reeder app makes keeping up with your favorite RSS feeds feel less like a chore and reminds you why you even signed up for them in the first place. I'm currently 75 pages into an e-book I purchased in iBooks and, contrary to my expectations, I've found reading for pleasure on the iPad actually enjoyable. (Just be sure to set the background color to sepia and adjust the brightness as desired to make things easier on the eyes for prolonged reading.) I can only speak for the WiFi model, but web-browsing is quicker and thus more enjoyable, partly due to the Nitro JavaScript engine implemented in iOS 4.3, but also in part to the improved tech found within the tablet. And let's not forget the best part: developers will continue to enhance and create software to leverage the power of the iPad 2 as they've done for the iPhone. With 9x the graphics capabilities of the 1st generation, I can only imagine how good some games are going to look on this thing.
To cut to the chase, this is a perfect example of a product whose whole is greater than the sum of its parts. On their own, the components found within this device may not be up to snuff with those found in dedicated devices, like e-readers, cameras, camcorders and so on. But the iPad is not supposed to be the best at any of those things. It, like the iPhone, is a solid, well-designed product that empowers consumers to get stay connected, have fun, and get things done without a lot of fuss or headache. Skeptics have dismissed the iPad as an oversized iPod touch, and the iPad 2 is unlikely to make believers out of any of them. But for those who've held out for the next generation and appreciate the Apple philosophy--the marriage of hardware and software to create a superior, enjoyable user experience--you won't be disappointed.

So much more than a case, the Smart Cover was designed alongside iPad 2 to be its perfect match: a thin, durable cover that magnetically aligns for a perfect fit. It automatically wakes and sleeps your iPad. It's a handy stand for reading, watching, and typing. Its microfiber lining keeps your iPad screen clean. And it's a way to make your iPad as personal on the outside as it is on the inside. The slim, yet sturdy Smart Cover protects your iPad screen without covering up its durable aluminum back. So your iPad still looks and feels like an iPad — just with a little extra protection.

Our first impressions and analysis of the iPad 2 after having attended Steve Jobs' keynote in San Francisco, California, where we also had some brief hands-on time with the tablet. Please note that while we were able to gain extended hands-on time at the March 2nd keynote and launch event, we do not have an iPad 2 on-hand to review at the time this video was created; please check back on or after March 11th for our complete review when we obtain a device for the http://phokia.com/
Please note: While I mention that YouTube is playable in-browser on the iPad, that information is only semi-correct. YouTube videos do not load on the desktop view in the browser, but they do load on the mobile version on both the iPad and the Xoom. As a result, there is no real advantage. On the iPad on the mobile view of YouTube, videos actually are played in the browser, similar to how YouTube plays on the desktop, and you do have the option to go full screen to iOS's video player. On the Xoom, in mobile view, you're taken to Android's video player to play YouTube videos and don't have the option to view videos in-browser, which allows you to browse information about the video while the video is playing.
