Edit and print lab-quality photos without a PC using the memory card slots and 2.36-Inch LCD with TouchSmart Frame. With this HP photo printer, original HP inks and HP Advanced Photo Paper, your prints will last for generations.
This is a decent low-end printer with a few very cool features, and satisfactory but not stellar performance. It would be the ideal printer for a small family, especially with children who like to print things (and what kids don't like to print things). I'm going to quickly go through the features and mention what I've experienced after playing with it for a few days; where relevant, I'll compare its features to my slightly more expensive Canon printer.
SETUP:
The printer's nicely packed, and easy to put together. The only trick I had was installing the printer cartridges. Like another reviewer said, the printer cartridges don't go in exactly the way the diagram or the illustrated video on the printer's screen suggests. If you make a mistake, it will say that they're not installed, and then you can't just go fix the mistake because it doesn't recognize you've fixed it unless you power off and power on again. One other thing I like is that the whole thing comes with a handy canvas carrying tote. That'll be nice because I may occasionally bring it home.
WIRELESS:
Setting up this printer as a wireless printer was extremely easy. I've setup about 5 different wireless printers over the past year and this was by far the easiest. What made it simple was that the instructions on the printer's screen show you exactly how to connect it to a local wireless point, and then when you install the software on the screen it automatically recognizes the printer as there to be used. Easy stuff.
PHOTOS:
It's advertised as a photo printer, and it does okay with photos but not great. I printed an 8.5 x 11 glossy of my family on quality photo paper and from far away it looks fine, but if you get close you'll see evidence of print lines. It's especially evident on skin, where you can see the little lines that make it almost look like your subjects had been sleeping on corduroy pants and had little fading line indentations left behind.
PRINTING:
For other kinds of print jobs, where fine details are less important, the printer does a good job and things look nice. It's pretty slow, though. It's not nearly fast enough for most professional office use, so the speed alone pretty much qualifies this as a home use printer. My Canon PIXMA MX860, for example, is quite a bit faster, and prints better photos. Of course, that one is bulkier than this one, and costs a bit more.
SCANNING:
The Photosmart scans just fine, though if you want any kind of control you have to scan from the software that installs on your computer with the driver. I tried scanning a page of text to send to my computer using just the controls on the printer and it ended up scanning only half of the page, and inverting the layout from the way it was actually placed on the scan bed. You can only scan one page at a time - there's no feeding.
Additionally, it only scans things as images, that it can send either as .jpg or .pdf files. That means you can't produce an editable text document from a scan unless you have additional software that can convert the images into such. My Canon Pixma MX860 does give me the option to create .txt files.

http://phokia.com/ The HP TouchPad is the first webOS powered tablet to come out of the Palm division of HP. It features a large touchscreen display and possibly the best, most intuitive tablet user experience available. We recorded a demo of the device while at Barcelona's Mobile World Congress. By now, you know how HP's new slate compares to the crowd -- now, see how it looks up close and personal. We just got our hands on that dual-core Palm webOS tablet here in San Francisco, and it's a beaut, with a slim black profile that highlights the brilliant 9.7-inch screen. We'll be back in a jiffy with some impressions of that newfangled Tap to Share and card-based multitasking.

http://phokia.com/
In this video I take a first look at what all was announced at today's HP's Think Beyond event. To begin with they announced the HP Veer, the smallest smartphone available with webOS that includes a 2.6" display, an 800MHz processor and a slide out keyboard. The Veer will be available this Spring.
Next there was the HP Pre 3, the successor to the original Palm Pre. The Pre 3 features some impressive specs including a single core 1.4GHz Snapdragon processor, a 3.6 inch display with a resolution of 800x480 along with support for CDMA and GSM networks. The Pre 3 will be on sale this summer.
Undoubtedly the star of the show was the new HP TouchPad, the long awaited webOS tablet. The TouchPad features dimensions very similar to the current iPad with a 9.7 inch display with a resolution of 1024x768, a dual core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor along with Beats Audio, the option to get it in a 3G configuration and it sports webOS 3.0. The TouchPad will be on sale this summer.

Since the very beginning, many Palm Pre users made the statement "if this Pre only had more horsepower, a bigger screen and keyboard, and better build quality, it would be the perfect phone!" Well, webOS fans... you may - just may - have gotten your wish. ... Unfortunately, there's caveats here... big ones. We'll get to those later.
Shortly after announcing the tiny HP Veer on stage, Jon Rubinstein unveiled the HP smartphone "for professionals." Boasting a 3.6" screen and snappy 1.4 GHz Snapdragon processor, we certainly inched forward in our seats in excitement.
While HP did not place the Palm Pre 3 on display for public handling like they did with the Veer, we were able to wrestle down a spokesperson toting a Pre 3 for a hands-on video.
Our first impression? Sexy. Very, very sexy. I came out and said it as I cradled the Pre 3 in my hand gingerly: "This is my next phone," I declared. With its ultra-sleek soft-touch edges, beautiful 480 x 800 3.6" gorilla glass display, auto-focus camera (finally!), front-facing camera, and blazing speed, it was impossible to not to gush.
But like any infatuation, when the fireworks subside and the confetti has settled, reality starts to set in. Palm's Pre 3 promo page says it all "planned availability this summer." ... Ouch. Big, big ouch. In a field when other smartphones are pushing the envelope on speed and innovation, HP has released a phone that, while competitive and arguably the best webOS smartphone to date, it will once again be terribly late to the party. Not only that, it will be devoid of differentiating technologies like 4G radios. That's right, as far as we know, this is merely a 3G phone. Put just those two factors together, and what you have is a big, drippy, mildewed wet blanket on top of our collective blaze of jubilation.
That's where we are, folks... HP has a fantastic webOS phone on their hands and they're going to -- for good reasons, we're sure -- sit on it 'til summer. No word on pricing, no word on carriers. Puh. We know. For myself, I'll have to keep reflecting on that moment when I held the Pre3 in my hands and felt that jolt of tech-lust... here's hoping this burning desire can last

We take an up-close-and-personal look at the upcoming HP TouchPad webOS tablet at the HP webOS event in San Francisco. With a 9.7-inch display, 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, gyroscope, and a front-facing camera, the TouchPad is a force to be reckoned with. Add in the TouchStone 2 technology, which lets you charge without wires and transfer data without cables, and the TouchPad could be an iPad killer.
