CAST YOUR VOTE NOW at pdog.ws Ever wanted to play a role in what device I carry? Thought to yourself "man, Aaron should carry the (insert phone name here)"? This is your opportunity! Cast your vote at pdog.ws and let me know what you chose (and why) in the comments section! Voting closes at 8:00 PM Eastern on Friday, February 3rd. (Right now, I'm using AT&T as my primary account, hence the AT&T choices in the poll.) Once we have a winner, I'll be using that smartphone as my primary smartphone for 30 days, and will be doing a video journal of my time with it. You'll get an in-depth look at what I love, what I hate, and everything in between. It's a busy time of the year, with Mobile World Congress right around the corner, so this device will be traveling around the world with me. Make it count!

Martin Cooper, the designer of the first cell phone, joins Sydney from phonedog in this special interview. We talked for half an hour, discussing topics ranging from that original cell phone to the mobile market today and the so-called "spectrum crunch" the carriers say we are facing. Marty shared his thoughts and gave some interesting insight on these topics and more. We also allowed our viewers to submit their questions and five were chosen to be included in the interview. Thank you to everyone who submitted a question. Watch the interview to see what his answers were. Some of them might surprise you. The full interview is shown in this video. We'll also be airing segments of it during this week's episode of phonedog Live on Friday at 5 pm ET on our Ustream channel. Thank you, Mr. Cooper, for your time.

HTC EVO 3D Hands-On by Aaron
The EVO line continues! Aaron gets some hands-on time with the HTC EVO 3D, a new device announced at CTIA 2011 in Orlando. It's rocking a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 4.3-inch stereoscopic display (though it's long and narrow), dual 5-megapixel cameras for 3D video capture, front-facing camera, and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) with the newest version of HTC Sense. It's coming this summer, and is an absolutely awesome phone with a killer specifications list, but the question remains - will 3D mobile content take off?

VOTE NOW for your favorite smartphone! www.phonedog.com Aaron reviews T-Mobile's Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G. Technically, it's not a Galaxy S II, but like AT&T's Captivate Glide, it offers some similarities like a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon CPU, 3.97-inch Super AMOLED display, 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, front-facing shooter, a 1750 mAh battery, and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) with Samsung's TouchWiz 4.0 UI. Priced very reasonably at $149.99, is it worth buying over some of T-Mobile's other high-end devices? Part 2 of 2. VOTE NOW for your favorite smartphone: www.phonedog.com Sprint's 4G LTE isn't available just yet, but that's not stopping the carrier from releasing new LTE-capable handsets. Aaron reviews the LG Viper 4G LTE, Sprint's mid-range offering. Coming in at $99.99, Viper offers a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S3 CPU, 4-inch display (480x800 pixels), 5-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording, a front-facing camera, NFC for apps like Google Wallet, a 1700 mAh battery, and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). If you want or need a better camera and larger HD display, go with the HTC EVO 4G LTE. Otherwise, Viper 4G LTE is a solid smartphone for $99.99 on contract. Part 1 of 2. VOTE NOW for your favorite smartphone: www.phonedog.com Day 22 is here, and I'm still trucking along with the Nokia Lumia 900. I continue to be impressed with the connectivity and battery life (especially with LTE), and love the body of the device. And it's $99! The linked inbox feature is pretty cool, but I continue to be frustrated with the "multitasking" features and how Microsoft implemented them. Stay tuned for more! VOTE NOW for your favorite smartphone: www.phonedog.com 16 days in, and for the most part, I'm still enjoying the Nokia Lumia 900. Reception and battery life continue to be good, and the phone can definitely take a beating thanks to the polycarbonate shell. But I've found the "multitasking" features to be pretty useless. All too often, I'll be composing a text message, and have to stop to check a calendar event or something of that nature. When I come back to the message, the text in the box is gone - or so it seems. You CAN return to it by hitting the back button several times, though I find that to be counterintuitive, particularly for those of us that are constantly flipping back and forth between things. VOTE NOW for your favorite smartphone: www.phonedog.com Eight days into the Nokia Lumia 900 challenge, I'm finally beginning to settle in for the long haul (if you can call 30 days a "long haul"). I've downloaded the apps I use the most, like Bank of America, Fandango, The Weather Channel, and Shazam, and I've gotten most of the settings configured how I prefer them. So far, battery life and network connectivity have been great, and I've been shocked at how I'm able to make it through the day with moderate use. Not bad at all for an LTE device. It's not without its quirks, though. I'm really missing a battery percentage meter, and the Zune Music arena isn't nearly as fleshed out as I'd like it to be (c'mon Microsoft, Windows Phone 7 evolved off of the Zune platform...). Stay tuned for more in the Nokia Lumia 900 Challenge! VOTE NOW for your favorite smartphone at www.phonedog.com Aaron reviews the HTC EVO 4G LTE, Sprint's newest Android superphone and a close (but better, in many ways) cousin to the HTC One X on AT&T. Coming soon for $199.99 on contract, EVO 4G LTE offers a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 4.7-inch HD (720p) display, 8-megapixel camera with ImageSense and 1080p HD video recording, a front-facing shooter, 1 GB RAM, 2000 mAh battery, 4G LTE connectivity, and a kickstand. It also has a physical camera button, which is a great feature considering HTC's emphasis on the camera in marketing. 4G LTE isn't available just yet, so prospective buyers will have to deal with Sprint's sluggish 3G network until it rolls out later in the year. Still, this is one of the best Android handsets on the market today. Part 2 of 2.
