Were my ears lying to me? I stared blankly at nothing wide-eyed. Why was I like this? I could get out of anything with my charm and skills, every girl believes me. It just struck me so sudden. I opened the door and slowly walked downstairs to the living room hoping Demi hadn't answered and found out the whole truth behind my lies. There stood my wife clutching my phone in her hand. She looked normal, not worried, she started to gain trust in me. Which was a good thing, at least it is for me. Why is Selena calling? She never calls. Did something happen to her? Is everything alright? But I couldn't talk in front of Demi and I couldn't walk away to talk, then she'd suspect something. She handed me my phone, slipping it into my palm. "Here." she simply said. I turned my phone off, "It's just a friend. From work." I implied. She nodded hesitantly, she wasn't actually looking for an explanation, she did learn to trust Nick. I've brooded this while it wasn't that big of a deal, she always believes me. Oh, so gullible she is. I bent down and placed my phone onto the coffee table sitting back down on the couch. "So..?" I said, we never had animated conversations and if we did they wouldn't last longer than five minutes. It was so obvious...we had no chemistry at all! Why was she with me? I had never thought about that. I was barely home, I wasn't 'sweet' or anything similar. I haven't taken her out in a while to be truthful. "So?"
